Welcome to the new Orange Book of Change! In this book we have brought together the essential resources, information and tools. This will give you and your chapter a fantastic foundation to make this year better than ever!

This book is an extremely valuable resource that captures the important things you need to know and lessons learned by past and current chapter executives to help you be an effective EWB executive member. Use this resource as well as chapters.ewb.ca as key elements in your tool box for the coming year.

The Orange Book of Change provides insights and past experiences that can save you time, energy and make you more effective along your journey as a chapter executive. The book is broken down into three sections and should be read from front to back at the start of your executive role and then used as a reference tool throughout the year.

We encourage you to see the reading of this book as a journey. Like any great journey, one learns, grows and evolves through the entire reading experience!

The first section along your reading journey is The Foundation; symbolized by the strong roots of a tree. As the name suggests it lays the foundational knowledge of why and how we do what we do – which is what everything else is built on. It explains our work in Canada, as well as our work in Africa, and delves into what there is in store for EWB in the coming years. The second section along your reading journey is The Essentials; symbolized by the robust trunk of a tree. In here you will find the core knowledge that every exec must know and understand to run an effective chapter. It is essential for every single exec to be familiar with the content of this section, everything from how to connect with your Chapter Buddy to how the Finances of EWB work.
